Event Video Coverage: HP’s 8th Edition of the Competition
Our clients are masters in their fields. From education to food & beverage, or pharma to technology, they pave the way for others to follow. But it’s not just that…it’s also about making a positive impact. Enter HP Code Wars: HP’s initiative to spread the love of programming.
Programming Entering the Mainstream
Ever wish you could create something out of nothing? Creation isn’t limited to a small selection of fields. We can even see it in math and sciences. forth a that can do exactly what you want it to do?
Basically, with just a series of numbers, letters, slashes, and dashes strung together you can cook up a program that can do just about anything you tell it to.
All with the magic wand of programming.
However programming is much more than just a hobby or an activity for the tech-savvy. To that end, it has become a truly mainstream profession in recent years. Gaining in popularity and importance as technology continues to play an ever-increasing role in our lives. From popular TV shows and movies (Silicon Valley, Mr. Robot, The Social Network…just to name a few) to everyday work environments, programming has become an essential tool for anyone looking to create something new and innovative.
Coupled with the important role technology continues to take in our lives, programming has become that much more important for the future However, despite its many benefits, programming can be an isolating profession, with many hours spent sitting in front of a computer screen, which unfortunately can push it further down the list of career paths to pursue.
Bringing Awareness to Younger Generations
That’s why it’s so important to do as much as we can to get young people interested in this area to ensure we can still oversee the link between our humanity and all that automation. Thankfully, one of our biggest clients and technology titan, HP, feels the same way, pushing them to create HP Code Wars.
Since 2015, a group of HP volunteers has put on a programming competition that encourages kids to pursue a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). After holding three virtual editions, in 2023 everyone was looking forward to being able to meet face-to-face once again in the Sant Cugat campus in Barcelona.
And we were there to provide video coverage of the event!
At HP’s 8th edition of the competition, 108 teams from 55 schools competed to show off their programming skills. And from what we saw, the future of the profession looks incredibly bright! These young programmers were able to create complex, sophisticated programs. Each one with the ability to tackle a wide range of tasks, from data analysis to machine learning. It was truly inspiring to see so many young people working together to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of programming.
With organizations like HP leading the way, there are plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and explore the exciting world of technology and programming.
